8/4 Both girls are doing good today, they are both back at their birth
weight. Found out today that Makenzies Hematocrit (red blood cells)
are getting borderline low and she may need blood. I have absolutly
no intention of letting my kids get blood from a blood bank so I am
going in the morning to get typed and screened to donate for her. Makenna
is 1 point above Makenzie so she may need some too. Other than that,
they may get to start wearing clothes tomorrow so no more nekid baby
shots. LOL
8/3 Well they are doing great today, they did another Echo of Makenzies
heart and the tech feels that the hole is closing up but we will have
to wait for it to be read by the Radiologist. Makenzie is up to 12 ml
of formula and Makenna is up to 24 ml so she will start packing on the
weight pretty soon.
8/2 Recap: Makenna started out not breathing as well as they wanted
so she wound up intubated and on a ventilator. After about 2 days, they
took her off the vent and had her on C-Pap to keep her lungs inflated
and remind her to breath. Makenzie was on C-Pap from teh beginning simply
to assist her with her breathing. She had a few episodes of Apnea but
other than that, she has been very healty. They did find a small murmer
in her heart which they believe is from the hole in her heart closing
up. Last night due to lack of bed space, they put the girls together
in the same crib. They have taken turns pulling each others tubes and
lines out and fighting. LOL
